Roofing Options

Selecting the right roof is a key decision for your new garden building. It offers vital protection from the harsh Irish weather and also determines the final appearance of your cabin.

Please Note: A roofing cover is essential to protect your new cabin. Our standard kits do not include one, which gives you the flexibility to either find your own materials or select from our high-quality upgrades. A proper roof covering must be installed to ensure your building is protected.

This guide outlines the various roofing options we provide. For maximum long-term durability, we highly recommend our EPDM rubber roofing for flat roofs and our bitumen shingles for apex roofs. The specific options available will depend on the building’s design:

• For our garden buildings with a flat roof, we provide a choice of durable Icopal Roofing Felt or our premium EPDM Rubber Roof system.
• For models featuring a classic pitched apex roof, you can choose between stylish Bitumen Roof Shingles or a heavy-duty Metal Sheet Roof.

All our log cabins need a suitable roofing cover which will help protect your cabin from the elements. We strongly recommend for a longer term solution using a roof shingle kit or an EPDM rubber roofing system.

Our basic cabin packages do not include any roofing so whether you source felt yourself or choose our roofing upgrades it is essential to protect your cabin with an appropriate roofing cover.

Roof shingle kit

These high quality roof shingles will offer the best possible protection for your beloved garden building and upgrade the outer look. These roof shingles have been tested in the roughest weather conditions of Finland.

ICOPAL roof shingles are SBS modified bitumen shingles reinforced with a bitumen impregnated glass-fiber fleece. The top side is covered with colourful slate granules. The down side has a self-adhesive bitumen layer, covered with a protective siliconised plastic film which must be removed on installation.

ICOPAL FIRE SMART extra strong roofing felt

For an additional charge you can buy an extra strong roofing felt- Icopal Fire Smart. This is a polyester reinforced and SBS modified bitumen membrane for flat- and pent roofs. This self-adhesive roofing felt is easy to install and protects your summer house or garden room from all weather conditions and UV-radiation. The Lifespan of this felt exceeds 10 years.

EPDM Rubber Roofing

Firestone E.P.D.M is a high performing synthetic rubber roofing membrane.

This large single sheet covering creates superior weatherability and durability. With an anticipated life expectancy of 50+ years, you will struggle to find better and longer lasting covering for your cabin.

Metal Sheet Roof

New to our selection are steel roofing sheets, available in two profile designs and suitable for garden houses, saunas, sheds, and even low-pitched roofs.

Classic Profile

The classic design steel sheet provides a sleek, elegant appearance that enhances both traditional and modern buildings, ensuring long-lasting performance with minimal maintenance.

Contemporary Profile (T20)

The profiled steel sheet features a straight-lined, contemporary appearance that is both aesthetically pleasing and easy to assemble.
